An introductory upper-level chemistry course introducing 'biomass conversions' with emphasis on production and characterization of fuels and lubricants for transportation application. Chemical and physical properties, conversion (solids to liquids) fundamentals (i.e. Fisher-Tropsch), fundamental environmental & economic aspects as well as technology. Transfer will be included in this course which consists of 3 hrs. Lecture/4 hrs. Lab weekly.
