The concepts of human nature", "national character", and "modal personality" as used by anthropologists are explored. Explains methods of research such as family studies, dream analysis, interpretations of "body language", and projective tests. Surveys cross-cultural studies of such topics as cognition, values, and attitudes, male/female stereotypes, childrearing practices, alcoholism, mental disorders, and the impact of cultural change (urbanization and industrialization)."
