ANTH 1303 - SOCIOBIOLOGYMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Sociobiology is a highly controversial synthesis of genetics, psychology, sociology, ecology, and evolutionary theory. It attempts to understand the evolution of behavior and social organization for animals ranging from jellyfish to man. Topics discussed include group and kin selection, the problem of altruism, territoriality, aggression, dominance, sex roles, parental investment, and a review of the criticisms directed against sociobiology. Academic Career: UGRD Course Component: Lecture Grade Component: LG/SNC Elective Basis Course Requirements: Prerequisite: Completion of all competencies, ANTH 0101 , and ANTH 0102 or BIOL 0103 is required
