BIOL 1410 - GENOMICS, PROTEOMICS & BIOINFO

Minimum Credits: 3
Maximum Credits: 3
The explosion of information in biology over the last few decades has led to the development of a new field called bioinformatics, which is closely aligned with the study of the genome and the proteins it codes (proteomics). This course will focus on the major bioinformatics tools used to explore the genome and proteome. The students will gain proficiency with these programs, in a case-based manner, which will teach them essential bioinformatics skills and reinforce knowledge of cell and molecular biology and genetics concepts.
Academic Career: Undergraduate
Course Component: Lecture
Grade Component: LG/SNC Elective Basis
Course Requirements: Prerequisites: Upper-Level Courses require completion of ENG 0101, ENG 0102, FS 0102, and the MATH competency
