HIST 0205 - THE UNITED STATES IN THE 1930'S: HISTORY THROUGHOUT HOLLYWOOD FILMSMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 A detailed study of social thought in the 1930s particularly relating to the influence of economic and social trends on mass culture. Approximately 12 American commercial films of various genres will be shown, along with selected readings from the period. These are used as an illustration of political, moral, and social thought during the period of America's Great Depression.
