CLP 0216 - MODERN AFRICAN LITERATURE: THE NOVELMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 The course will explore selected texts of African literature written in English or translated into English. It covers major modern African fiction and its role in explaining African politics, culture, and religion. Appropriate audio-visual material is included to give students a basic but comprehensive background in postcolonial African literature and culture. Chinua Achebe's things fall apart, Agambila's postcolonial fiction, Mariama Ba's so long letter, as well as Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka's and other representative works will be studied.
