PS 1393 - GLOBAL PUBLIC HEALTH AND SOCIAL POLICYMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course compares health care systems and welfare systems as well as developments in public health and social policy across a range of countries. We will examine the impact of political, economic and cultural factors as well as the role of state actors, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and corporations on public health and social policy globally. An intersectional perspective will be used to examine patterns of inequality and to assess the ways in which policy-making impacts different groups in society.
