ADMJ 0102 - AMERICAN CORRECTIONSMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 A study of correctional structure and operation. The course explores origins of correctional institutions and the evolution of correctional practices in contemporary society. Covered also are non-institutional forms of correctional control focusing on alternatives to incarceration in community settings. Programs reviewed include, institutional corrections, intermediate sanctions, community based corrections, community justice and balanced and restorative justice programs.
