HIST 1310 - EAST ASIA: CHINA, KOREA, JAPANMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 The aim of this course is to survey the historical development of China, Japan, and Korea in their "classic" times. The first half of the course surveys these areas from the prehistoric era to the intrusion of the West in modern times. The second half is devoted to the impact of Western intrusion upon these cultures, and their metamorphosis either real or imagined - caused by it. The course concludes in the period between the World Wars.
