SOC 1306 - WORK AND SOCIETYMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 A sociological overview of work. The course examines the historical development of the American workplace and its present organization. It will also include cross-cultural comparisons. Topics include occupational stratification, the organization of the workplace, the modern factory, the white collar world, women in the work force, automation, alienation, and labor organizing.
