CIST 1400 - POLICY AND COMPLIANCE IN CYBERSECURITYMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 The course will review ethics, privacy and security as it relates to cybersecurity as well as resulting laws and policies such as: HIPAA (the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), Sarbanes-Oxley (aka SoX) and Payment Card Industry Data (PCI) Data Security Standard. Students will gain an understanding of these policy requirements, their genesis and will gain insight into their cybersecurity implications. Students will learn how these standards are addressed in commercial environments to properly assure compliance and protect data/information.
