SOCSCI 1451 - CAPSTONE: SOCIAL SCIENCES

This is an intensive, interactive multidisciplinary senior seminar. Topics will vary annually, and by instructor, but may include analyses from the perspectives of anthropology, economics, criminal justice, history, political science, psychology, and sociology. The format can also vary annually. The format may include extensive readings, significant writing, in-class discussions, a term paper, and a formal class presentation. For the term paper/presentations/discussions, it is expected that students will demonstrate an integration of at least three academic disciplines and will demonstrate a command of research methods commonly used in the social sciences. Attendance and participation, important to the overall vitality of any seminar, are essential. Ge: capstone, upper-level writing.
