Metaphysics is the study of the nature of reality and epistemology is the study of knowledge. This course serves as a survey of various issues within these two sub-fields of philosophy. We will examine how philosophers have responded to the following sorts of questions. What is free will and do we have it? What is it to be a person? Is it possible to travel back in time? What is it for something to be possible? What is justification and when are we justified in believing something? Do we have any knowledge at all?
