Economics is the study of the allocation, production, and distribution processes in an economy and how policy decisions impact the economy. Students majoring in economics develop the analytical and quantitative skills required for careers in the private and public sectors.

Course Requirements in the Major
Economics Electives (15-16 Credits)
Five courses selected from the following sets of courses:
Set 1 Applied economics (two courses)
Set 2 Sectoral economics (three courses)
Choose four from the following list of electives courses (12 credits):

Please be advised that some programs or courses of study require that students complete rotations, fieldwork, internships/externships and/or teaching assignments at facilities external to the university, while other programs or courses of study may offer voluntary internships or externships at facilities external to the university. Depending on the program or course, such facilities will or may require a criminal background check, an act 33/34 clearance (if applicable), and perhaps a drug screen to determine participant qualification or eligibility.
