Environmental Science Minor

Core requirements for Environmental Science minor

Students must take all three of these classes:

• ES 0105 - ENVIRONMENTAL GEOLOGY
• ES 0107 - ENVIRONMENTAL GEOLOGY LAB
• ES 0110 - INTRO TO ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE

Biology and Chemistry requirements

Students must take these two classes:

• BIOL 0218 - PRINCIPLES OF ECOLOGY AND EVOLUTION
• CHEM 0106 - CHEMISTRY OF THE ENVIRONMENT

Elective Courses

Choose one of the following:

• ES 0106 - INTRO TO OCEANOGRAPHY
• ES 0201 - RESEARCH METHODS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTISTS
• ES 1301 - ADVANCED FIELD METHODS AND TECHNIQUES
• ES 1305 - SOIL SCIENCE
• GEOL 0109 - CONCEPTS IN GIS
• GEOL 0250 - TOPICS IN GEOLOGY
• GEOL 1320 - ADVANCED GIS
• GEOL 1450 - TOPICS IN GEOLOGY

Total Credits: 16-17

Depending on the program or course, such facilities will or may require a criminal background check, an Act 33/34 clearance (if applicable), and perhaps a drug screen to determine participant qualification or eligibility.
